About last night…

Retiro da Ponte gave us a meal fit for Kings and Queens! It was the best Jantar Vínico that we have had in Portugal! Everything from the flavours, presentatiom and service were carefully crafted. The venue at Niepoort Wines cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia is a very special place and somewhat magical place. I must say the wines were paired perfectly with even dish and it elevated the whole experience to the next level. All I can say is this was a very special night shared by only a few. Thank you for the experience!

The food was excellent throughout. Really well balanced and full of flavour. The fish was perfectly cooked and came with a delicious risotto. Dessert and starter was just as good clearly made with care. Service was excellent – warm, relaxed and properly attentive without being over the top. The owner was incredibly friendly and clearly cares deeply about what they’re doing here, which comes through in both the atmosphere and the quality of food. Highly recommended and so good we booked again for the next day.
